As a native Chicagoan, Dr. Chuck Mitchell, DPM, FACFAS, earned his undergraduate and masters degree from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. Later, he graduated with a cum laude honors degree from Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine & Surgery in Chicago. Dr. Mitchellβs training followed with 3 years of hospital based residency training that focused on conservative and surgical treatment of the foot and ankle. In his final year of surgical training, Dr. Mitchell was selected as the chief resident in which he advanced his skills while proctoring junior residents and podiatric medical students. Upon entering private practice, Dr. Mitchell continued his teaching through working with residents and students at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center and the former Michael Reese Hospital. Dr. Mitchell has been treating patients on the South Side of Chicago since completing his training and is conveniently located in Hyde Park near the University of Chicago campus just off Lakeshore Drive at 47th and Lake Park. Dr. Mitchell specializes in advanced surgical and non surgical treatment of all foot and ankle disorders including: bunions, hammer toes, heel and arch pain, plantar fasciitis, tendon injuries and ruptures, fractured bones of the foot and ankle, ingrown toenails and many more!
