Dr. Brent Sorenson has been a resident in the Mahtomedi area since 2005. He began his education by earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Bethel University in 2001. After graduation, he began working for the University of Minnesota’s Department of Surgery performed small animal surgeries, studied pediatric oncology and earned a Masters in Biology. After completion, Dr. Sorenson was awarded a scholarship to the School of Dentistry’s DDS/PhD program as an independent research fellow through the National Institute of Health. Today, Dr. Sorenson still performs research with the U of M in the exploration of the genes required for oral cancer tumor formation and gingival inflammation. During his tenure at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, Dr. Sorenson received awards for academic skill, professionalism and independent research ability. In addition to an extensive research training, Dr. Sorenson has also received advanced clinical training for digital dentistry and Cerec same-day crowns, implant placement and restoration and orthodontics. He loves having the ability to help people in all stages of their life achieve their best level of oral health.
