Mr. Pikarski has been called “the dean of zoning lawyers in Chicagoland” and has practiced land use and condemnation law in Illinois since 1969. He founded Gordon & Pikarski as a boutique firm with six attorneys to better serve individuals and businesses in real estate matters. He has since appeared thousands of times before zoning boards and city councils throughout northeastern Illinois. Mr. Pikarski has been a member of the Chicago Plan Commission and has advised the mayor and city council. He was appointed by President Clinton to the board of directors for the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, which oversees more than $7 billion in overseas projects, and to the United States Commission for Preservation of America’s Heritage Abroad. He has also co-chaired the National Polish American/Jewish American Council; he is a member of the National Democratic Ethnic Coordinating Committee and the Democratic National committee, and was national chairman of Polish Americans for Clinton/Gore, Gore/Lieberman and Kerry/Edwards.
