A Letter from Our Founder and CEO
Hi, Im Joe, CEO and Founder of LOOKEE Tech. I have spent more than two decades immersed in the technology industry. Several years ago, I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. Immediately, I became one of the millions of people around the world suddenly dependent on CPAP treatments.
Unfortunately, though my AHI numbers were down, nothing was improving. I still woke up exhausted, my chest hurt, and nothing seemed to improve.
My first doctor said there was nothing more he could do for me, so I changed doctors. That second one helped me understand more about oxygen levels and heart rate during sleep. She made all the difference for me then and how my focus on the future was shaped.
I was fitted with a finger clip oximeter to monitor those key vitals through the night, but I found it painful, cumbersome, and partly ineffective. The first night it slipped off my finger, giving me only partial data.
As a tech guy, I knew there had to be a better option. Unfortunately, after digging into the technology at that time, there wasnt. Not yet. Thats when I knew I had to create it. I wasnt alone in feeling this way. One of millions of CPAP treatment patients, I believed there had to be a better way.
Along with my team of veteran developers, we created the first prototype pretty quickly. I used it and was finally able to track my oxygen levels and heart rate throughout the night.
I found that though my oxygen saturation levels werent dropping too much, thanks to the CPAP treatment, my average O2 level was still low, compared to whats considered healthy. Thats when I began adjusting the CPAP device, based on the real-time readings this new prototype was giving me. After a week with the new adjustments, I felt great! I was so relaxed and refreshed!
But I knew this device wasnt a medical device. So, I took all this information to my doctor. She was impressed. She noted that this was amazing!
Once a lab verified the data I had been getting, I was looking to refine this monitoring device soother people could benefit as well. Having that data on hand, in real-time, allowed me to make vital adjustments to the CPAP mask and levels. It made all the difference in the world!

Already incredibly successful, customers continually tell us how LOOKEE has saved their lives. I know now exactly what they mean. After three years using CPAP treatments, I began to develop some serious side effects.
Because of repeatedly breathing air into that mask night after night for years, it caused my allergies to worsen, creating more nasal congestion and that was making it much tougher to breathe! The very thing CPAP is supposed to help me do was actually making it tougher over time!
After one extremely difficult night struggling to breathe, I woke up with a major headache and chest pain. My sleep doctor said my heart was stressed during sleep. Thats when I had to take the CPAP mask off and instead, put on the LOOKEE Sleep Monitor.
This helped alert me when my blood oxygen saturation level dropped. Then I was able to shift my position, breathe better, and sleep more soundly.
As a result, I really began to get a better nights rest. And I now truly understand what so many other LOOKEE users have been telling me: our products are lifesavers!
