Misconceptions of Object-Oriented Programming as it Related to Flash MX

As the internet continues to grow, more web designers are needed to meet the demand of web sites. With the complexity of website, web designers are not only required to build a site that is visually pleasing, but it must be fully functional as well. Flash MX has now became an industry standard for building rich internet applications and web sites. In order for web designers to get the fullest capability of Flash MX, they must understand object-oriented programming(OOP) and how it is interpreted in the flash environment. One method of solving this problem is to use Skinner?s programmed instruction. By providing immediate response and self-pacing, web designers enhance their ability to learn OOP and it?s relationship with flash. Although this can be an effective solution, a disadvantage is that it is a linear program and it expects that all learners have the same level of knowledge. Another approach to this problem is computer-aided instruction (CAI). CAI, a way of developing instructions that will be seen through a computer, can create branching in which designers are automatically jumped to different pages depending on the responses they make. There is a great need to educate web designers who lack programming experience with flash MX. As the complexity of websites increases, web designers are not only required to deliver a flash site that is visually pleasing, but it must be fully functional as well.
