Murcia on the up
9th July 2007
The Spanish city of Murcia has seen increased popularity as somewhere for Brits to buy a home abroad, according to the Overseas Property Shop.
The area has been subject to huge investment and a massive improvement in infrastructure following the involvement of Polaris World, specialists in overseas porperty and golf courses, in the area.
Conrad Bedford, managing director of Overseas Property Shop said: "Over the last couple of years it has sprung alive and it’s very nice.
"Big golf resorts are spending money on the infrastructure and it’s really very pretty."
Those buying in the area range from young investors and families to the retired, all attracted by the area’s good transport links, beautiful beaches and the Men Menor, or ’mini-sea’, which offers a range of watersports.
"Over the last couple of years it’s seen huge investment from Polaris World which would attract the golfers," confirmed Mr Bedford.
"The Mar Menor itself, the mini sea, is infamous for windsurfing and other water sports and has been for years."
